A leather shoe is always a great investment. From suede booties to leather heels, here’s how to care for your favourite pairs.
Suede is made from the underside of the skin, making it soft, pliable and luxurious. A suede shoe offers your look a more textural edge that works well with casual styling.
While suede is softer, it is also more susceptible to damage than leather. Make sure to keep your suede shoes away from water and treat them with a water-repellent shoe treatment for extra points. To spot clean, all you need is a damp microfiber cloth or shoe brush and your preferred shoe cleaner.
Colby Protector is an invisible protector specially formulated to protect leather, suede, fabric and wool against penetration of water and oil. A classic smooth leather shoe never goes out of style. Leather is as durable as it is stylish and works well on a variety of shoes. From sneakers to sandals, boots to heels – leather adds that extra touch of quality to your footwear. We also love that leather is versatile enough to work with formal office or evening looks as well as to edge up a casual #OOTD.
Make sure to nourish your leather with leather oils or creams, to prevent cracking and prolong shine. As with suede, water is leather’s worst enemy and should be avoided at all costs. Water can create creasing, cracking or cause the dye to run. A damp cloth will be sufficient for gentle cleaning.
